Consulting to the Arts, Cultural and Creative Industries
Eleanor Dawson is a skilled consultant and experienced project manager working with clients in the arts, culture and creative industries. She has been involved in the cultural community of Newfoundland and Labrador for the past thirty years in a variety of production, administrative and managerial roles.
Provincial Director of Arts
In her position as Director of Arts with the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, she participated in the creation of the provincial cultural policy as well as creating and administering various support programs for the cultural sector. Additionally, she has played a key research, development and administrative role in various sector-expanding projects.
Promoting Culture
Eleanor grew up in Bay Roberts, NL where she developed a life- long interest in the history, folklore and culture of Newfoundland and Labrador. As past president of both the Newfoundland and Labrador Folk Arts Society and the Newfoundland Historical Society, Eleanor has played and continues to play a central role in the creation and support of cultural initiatives in the province.
Facilitating and Leading Groups
Eleanor has been leading tours throughout Newfoundland and Labrador for the past four years. As a great conversationalist with an outgoing personality, Eleanor is very effective in helping people feel comfortable in their groups. She knows how to use her strengths and knowledge to make sure her guests have the most amazing experiences. Her talents and experience in group facilitation help her groups develop excellent cohesion and long-lasting rapport. For her part, Eleanor loves sharing the extraordinary natural and cultural assets of Newfoundland and Labrador with visitors to the province.

Eleanor Dawson currently sits on the Boards of: Business and Arts NL; Winterset in Summer Literary Festival; Community Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador and Fogo Island Arts. In 2016, Eleanor was awarded the Industry Builder Award by Music NL.
